The Lake Erie fishing report published by the ODNR Division of Wildlife lists the trout and salmon daily limit in Ohio waters of Lake Erie as five fish per angler with a 12-inch minimum size limit, and states that starting on September 1 the daily limit decreases to two fish per angler. The same daily-limits block lists walleye at six fish per angler with a 15-inch minimum, yellow perch at 30 in the West Zone, 10 in the Central Zone and 20 in the East Zone, and black bass, meaning largemouth and smallmouth, at five fish per angler with a 14-inch minimum size limit.
