First responders were called to the westbound lanes of Ohio 2 about half a mile west of Joppa Road just before 6:30 p.m. State troopers and Vermilion Township firefighters arrived to find a Mazda SUV off the right side of the road resting on its roof. Two ambulances responded to the scene, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol did not release information about injuries.

It appeared that the driver went off the road to the left, overcorrected and went off the road to the right, traveled in a ditch, then rolled. A Sandusky Towing operator arrived with a flatbed and righted the vehicle before winching it onto his truck's flatbed. Ohio 2 westbound was reduced to one lane for about an hour.
